William Underhill is a writer, journalist, podcaster and editor with extensive experience in Britain and abroad.

He has contributed to a wide range of media outlets including Newsweek, The Economist, The New York Times, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, Handelsblatt (Dusseldorf) and the BBC.

His most recent job was Special Correspondent for Newsweek International in London. He currently works part-time as an editor for The Week and as a freelance writer.

He has published a guide to the Thames waterfront in London, co-edited a catalogue of the treasures of the Hermitage museum in St Petersburg, and co-founded a map-making business which he continues to run with his partners.

Educated at Oxford University and The Inns of Court School of Law, he is a qualified lawyer and a member of the English Bar. He now lives in Oxford.
